Huayen Wikipedia

From Dr. Tony Prince:

I looked at the Wikipedia article on Huayen recently. It isn't very good, since it treats Huayen as some kind of Buddhist 'philosophy', but because the point of view is quite mistaken, I couldn't see any way to improve it by editing it -- it would have to be completely rewritten. On the other hand, it only had one reference, to an academic article, so I took the opportunity to add three books, including of course "The Dawn of Enlightenment". The other two were Tom Cleary's translation of the Sutra and his collection of Tang Dynasty Huayen essays ("Entry into the Inconceivable"). In each case I added a brief explanation in brackets. Please note that the URL I also added to the article is that of Chris Cleary's webpages (http://www.huayenworld.org/hybfinal/HYB_main_index.htm).

The so-called "English" section of the main Huayen website (http://english.huayenworld.org/) is worse than useless: it can only harm the cause of Huayen and should be removed immediately.

Best wishes to all.
Tony

I have just tried these 2 websites, the first time I hit both sites
did not work, then afterwards they worked everytime I entered.

Please
try again. As I am very naive regarding computer or internet
operations, all I can tell you is that I can get into the sites.

If you cannot get connected to these sites, maybe you should ask Derek in the Questions and Help section.

Thanks for asking. Hope that we can know each other more in the future.

All the best
