You are cordially invited to join our 53 days Circumscribed Practice (July 27 to Sept 17)...Dear Benevolent Friends: HYBCO has been established for nearly 2 years, in order to show our gratitude to the blessings of the Triple Gems, to the marvelous Circumscribed Practice in Chinese is “結" (jieˊ) and “界” (jieˋ). The first word “結" (jieˊ) means to bind, or join, or form, while the second word “界” (jieˋ) indicate a boundary, scope, or range. The term thus means that each practitioner vows to complete a certain amount of specified practice in a certain amount of time and at a designated place. That is, each individual takes the particular practice that he or she has chosen to cultivate, and coordinates it with time, space, and will power in an effort to generate maximum benefits This method of practice is advocated by the Great Huayen Monastery of Taiwan and is proven to have bona fide results. This Practice is particularly appropriate for new practitioners. Each individual practices according to his or her own ability and makes his or her own choices and adjustment. Circumscribed practice is one of the best ways to accumulate resources or merits in order to advance your cultivation. The most obvious benefits of this practice are the building up of confidence and independence, which in turn strengths your ability to handle stress and obstacles in life. The method itself is simple: it just requires devotion, attention and commitment. Ceremony for Circumscribed Activity · Making Vows · Repentance
· Actual Practice/Homework · Transfer of the Merit
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need clarification. Sincerely wish that you will join us in this Circumscribed Practice and walk with us on the Bodhi Path.

Question
Hello Olivia,
Just a clarification about the circumscribed
practice. My understanding is that this is an individual practice that
is done collectively as a group and we do not have to meet everyday
form July 27th until September 17th; is that the correct understanding?
It is essential to sign the pledge in order to vow for the practice,
correct?
Humbly yours,
Carl
Re: Question
Dear Carl:
You are right, this particular CP is an individual practice that is done
collectively as a group and we do not have to meet together from July 27
to Sept 17.
It will be appreciated if one can sign the pledge to vow for the
practice but it is not a "must" condition.
Free feel to send me an email if you have any further questions.
Gratefully yours,
Olivia Tsang
