各位大德:
我們的語言文字,它是一種符號,符號對於事
物的標的,它一定要定義。譬如我們說這個是花,這樣來講,那什麼叫花?你一定要講清楚,花就是樹木成長到成熟的時候,那麼它會開花,這表示它成熟了,開花
以後會結種子。種子以後可以傳延下一代,這樣子這個花、樹不會絕種。那麼這個花的定義,會定得很清楚。花有幾種,怎麼樣怎麼樣,講得很清楚。
佛法中假如講到花,它不這樣定義, 它會告訴你,花有主花神 ,那麼有哪種、哪種主花神,這個主花神得什麼解脫門,你
看了老半天說到底什麼叫做花?有沒有?你看世主妙嚴品就是這樣。
講山就某某主山神,得某某解脫門,他不跟你講什麼叫山。
我們看苦集滅道,四聖諦品也一樣,我們希望說華嚴經對苦集滅道怎麼定義?他沒有定義,一定義苦集滅道就會變成符號,那是世間知識。
華嚴經在這個地方,不跟你講苦
集滅道是什麼?它苦又名什麼,又名什麼,有沒有?然後又名又名講了十幾萬個,然後呢?集也一樣又名…此方世界他方世界叫什麼…
他不跟你講說它的定義是什麼? 他不定義。苦集滅道都一樣,那你知道這什麼意思嗎?
為什麼華嚴經、佛教的經典這麼 愚癡?為什麼不定義?定義,我們不是很好記嗎?告訴你,
這是兩套不同的思惟模式,你要把它弄清楚,學佛這一點很重要啊!
就像我們這裡供果,供橘子,你很清楚了,什麼叫橘子?你馬上記起來,對不對?對!現在橘子盛產季節,你可以把橘子去寫一篇論文,你知道嗎?可以賺很多錢,
沒有錯,可是當人家撥橘子,你聞到那味道,那是什麼味道,你知道嗎?
橘子那兩個字,這個符號你懂,橘子這個符號你懂,橘子這個東西你不懂,世間的知識教給你的是橘子這個符號,你很容易記起來,
佛法教給你的不是橘子這個符號,是橘子這個東西,它直接要你去了解這個東西,你知道嗎?所以它為什麼不跟你定義,它只是讓你感受到那個氣氛,苦集滅道是什
麼?你直接去了解苦集滅道的狀況,就好了,苦集滅道的定義,你可以不要管。
因為你直接了解到它的狀況,這個就是我們告訴你六根接觸六塵境界,記得 喔! 六塵境界,直接流入薩婆若海,那麼這個時候,你的生命本能就能夠接納它
。
假如你是用橘子那兩個字,這個符號的話,那你就變成六識接觸六塵,不是用六根,是用六識,當你用六識接觸六塵的時候,馬上傳入第六意識,第六意識交給第七
意識,進入第八意識再迴轉回來 的時候,你就變成六七八識在起作用。這個時候, 六識跟六塵境界交往,這個叫做一切有為法。

My question is: How does the practitioner know the incoming message flow directly into the Prajna Sea?
Perhaps it flow into Prajna sea via 6-7-8th
consciousness but the practitioner thought it flow directly into 8th
consciousness because the 6,7th passage is so split second?? Answer
like "you know if you can do it" is useless because that does not teach
the dharma method to others who cannot do it. So, what is the practical
method at the split second level? How does the practitioner distinguish
between the Prajna Sea and the 8th consciousness field?

<>For the technical aspects it
requires lots of practice and Chan's training. That part is for practitioners
to work on and not for talking. HeShang has given us lots of guidance &
directions in that aspect too, just that not that many people will spend time
to give it a try. This article is to give one a general idea. To be able to do
that you need to spend time in listening to HeShang's teachings and follow his
training. The dharma method is here yet it requires very dedicated time and
effort. People come and sit but they do not follow HeShang's method, they sit
only on Sunday and not on a daily basis, people hear but they do not listen.
How many of us are serious about the Hua Zang Workshop? How many of us can
follow the guidelines thoroughly? It is not that the dharma method does not
work, the reality is that we have not cumulated enough merits and resources.
The problems and solutions all lie within. How does the practitioner distinguish
between the Prajna Sea
and the 8th consciousness field? I will leave that question for HeShang to
answer. My version is: when you are there you will know (just like
enlightenment). But before reaching that level you need faith and wisdom. You
need very deep Samadhi ability to obverse the working of consciousness. We all
know how to talk about it but we cannot experience it. It is easy to talk, not
so easy to make it happens... Let's spend more time making it happens... Let's
be good companions on the Bodhi Path!!!
